MG A 1600 Roadster

IMG 8206 Content

The MG A is a sports car produced from 1955 to 1962. There were 31,501 of the 1600 model variation produced in less than 3 years!

The MG A represented a complete styling break from MG’s earlier sports car. With its enveloping shape and all steel body, it was praised for its beautiful styling, good handling and road holding, and high reliability.

It was raced extensively in the U.S since its 1955 introduction and achieved considerable success. The MG A remains popular amongst the American market today.

In 1959, a 1600 open car was tested by The Motor  where it achieved a top speed of 96.1mph and could accelerate from 0-60mph in 13.3 seconds.

This particular car has benefited from a number of sensible upgrades to provide a more comfortable and reliable touring car.
