The iconic British racing sports car has become increasingly rarer and more desirable internationally. With the Jaguar Series 1 XKE being the most desirable model of the XKE range, collectors around the world have seen the XKE value soar in recent years making it the perfect investment piece.

Whilst built by British car manufacturer Jaguar, the XKE proved to be most popular in the USA. The table below shows the level of export to the American market. Even 20 right-hand drive XKE’s made the journey over the Atlantic to the USA.

Once described as “the most beautiful car ever made” by Enzo Ferrari, Jaguar had developed the perfect high performance, competitively priced alternative to Ferrari’s and Maserati’s that dominated the 60’s race scene. With its astoundingly obvious beauty, race car handling and potential speed of 150mph, the XKE soon became an automotive icon across the globe.

Today you will struggle to find an example of an ‘untouched’ XKE which is why as Jaguar XKE specialists; we have devoted ourselves to perfecting the craft of restoring this iconic beauty as close to its factory finish as possible.

Our extensive list of Jaguar XKE upgrades have been carefully selected to remain sympathetic to the Jaguar XKE’s heritage and complement its signature appearance and not least its performance.

It has been our aim to source Jaguar XKE’s internationally to enable us to offer you your desired car. Whether this is the early 3.8-litre XKE model with early features such as flat floors, the pumpkin orange coloured head and spot welded louvres or the 4.2-XKE model.

It is well known that Jaguar had experienced some teething problems with the earlier 3.8-litre XKE which were soon to be smoothed out in the 4.2-litre XKE. The 4.2-litre XKE model had;

  • An improved braking system with servo assistance
  • All-synchromesh gearbox replaced the Moss box
  • Improved cooling system
  • The electrical system was switched over to negative-earth, fitted with an alternator rather than the dynamo as seen in the 3.8-litre models
  • The engine had improved torque which meant the performance was improved throughout the rev range
  • Adjustable recliner seats which folded forward for easier access to the larger luggage area
