Jaguar World Drive A New Forest E-Type

Jaguar World Magazine - October 2016

Jaguar World's Jim Patten visited the NFCC restoration facility in Lymington to see what we have been getting up to on the South Coast.

Jim meat with Daniel Smith, General Manager of NFCC to explore the fully equipped workshop, trim shop and showroom before taking a New Forest E-type to the winding roads of the New Forest.

The 1964 3.8 open-two seater was originally distributed through Jaguar Cars New York. When we acquired the car, like many from across the pond, it needed intensive body work to get it back to its former glory. We opted to not totally upgrade this car and instead chose to select sympathetic upgrades to enhance the E-type's performance. Upgrades included changing the original Moss' box to an E-type Fabs five-speed gearbox, a Fosseway fully adjustable cooling fan along with a Fosseway high-torque starter motor. The car also features electronic ignition, a proven reliable alternative.

To read Jim's full feature on his experience driving a New Forest E-type, the October issue is now on sale! Head to page 48 to read the full 5-page feature.
